When we are hurting…
because we have been disappointed – because we just
feel down – because fighting has exhausted us – because our dreams are
not going to become a reality –
some of us have learned to pray
show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths;
guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my
hope is in you all day long. – a prayer recorded in Psalm 25:4-5.
When we are hurting, crying, unable to find direction, we can trust our heavenly Father to show us the way. He will teach us His paths, He will direct our footsteps, He will guide us in His truth. He will teach us through His Word.
Why would He do this for us? Because He is God our Savior. He is our hope.
As verses 6 and 7 of Psalm 25 says Remember, O
Lord, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old. 7 Remember
not the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love
remember me, for you are good, O Lord.
Why would He do this for us? Not because we deserve
His care, protection and guidance. We have not earned His care. He
takes care of us because of who He is – because of His great mercy and love.
